Excellent patient care is at the heart of LCW’s transition plans in North Central London

Seamless patient care and ensuring continuity of service to the residents of North Central London (NCL) is at the heart of London Central & West Urgent Care Collaborative’s (LCW) plans and day-to-day activity with Barndoc Healthcare as it hands over responsibility for the North Central London Integrated Urgent Care¹ (IUC) service.

For more than 10 years, Barndoc and LCW have enjoyed a long and successful relationship. Initially as independent neighbouring providers, we came together to successfully deliver pre 111 services. Through collaborative working, the same ethos and shared working objectives, we consistently delivered the highest standards of patient care.

Our collaboration was further strengthened in 2016 when LCW began working in partnership with Barndoc, to deliver telephone triage and face-to-face consultations across Barnet, Enfield, and Haringey for the NCL IUC service.

Chris Curtis, Barndoc Deputy Chief Operating Officer, said:  “As Barndoc moves towards closure after 25 years, it is reassuring to know that from 1 July 2021, when LCW takes responsibility for providing the entire NCL IUC service, that the transition will be seamless. Patients will continue to receive the same great quality and standards of care that they always have, and we know they will be in very safe and capable hands.”

Dr Simon Douglass, LCW CEO, added:  “LCW will carry on the good work and we are fortunate that several key members of staff, including the senior clinical leadership from Barndoc, will join our team to ensure a seamless transition to LCW being the single provider of the service from July onwards.”
